A Trick from Corporate Credit Concepts
Starting your own business is sound brilliant. You will be the boss of yourself and even hire people to work under you and follow your orders. The experience as worker or employee most often gives an idea of having their own business for some entrepreneurs. Working for your own business brings more satisfaction in life. But wait until all your financial resources need to be invested to grow your very own business.
And, not stop up to that point, you find yourself using your credit card, your wife’s credit card to supply the capital for your business. Your growing business needs more and more cash, causing you to have high outstanding credit card balance and often have late payment. Your personal credit rating is now going down and you have no more credit limit to spend.
This typical story is the story of entrepreneurs in developing business. How to get extra more cash when you are not qualified anymore to have personal credit because of your bad credit rating? The only way out from this problem is to build business credit rating separately from your personal credit lines. It takes time, but we can do something about it than just sitting with empty hands. This way out is based on corporate credit concepts which put corporate or business credit separately from the owner’s credit.
You need to give your business its own entity by incorporating your business, and then get the company tax ID. Once you have tax ID you can start to make credit relation with vendors and suppliers under your corporation name and linked to your corporate tax ID. Then, registered your company to at least three credit rating companies, and make sure that your transaction with vendor is reported. Your credit rating is now starting to establish.
This time make sure that you maintain good payment to the vendors and not bring so much debt that exceeded your company’s net worth. Once your good history reported, you can obtain larger credit from credit providers. When your company credit rating is going to be higher and higher you may even get business credit line from your checking account.
