How the Mexican Business Information System

Ten years after the creation of the Mexican Business Information System (SIEM), only 18 percent of all enterprises are registered in it, although it is required.

During the first two or three years of the SIEM, registration grew 6.9 percent annually. After stagnated.
The country has five million 194 000 811 companies, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), i.e. that the SIEM are registered only 935 000 66.

Given the limited companies, the Ministry of Economy (SE), along with employers’ associations and confederations are in talks to renew the mechanism and businesses to register, said Luis Antonio Ascension Armada.

SE adviser said the renovation project is well advanced SIEM, so that in September the federal government could send to Congress to reform the initiative and “Daybreak 2012 with a new system.”
