Modus operandi of Big business in Peru
The modus operation of big business in Peru is part of the recent disastrous legacy that Fujimori introduced and promoted and which were linked unequivocally promoting economic groups so individual interests and, therefore, detrimental to the nation, so is the subject of the agenda of the truncated transition. But it seems that we have forgotten how important it is and should be that economic groups assume the market risks, before what seems to happen that has been done with greater force in recent years and is the use of State for the empowerment of business via an ad hoc resolutions, bids, potential privatizations and concessions, in all cases with little transparency, but yes, good business by entering dark.
As reminds us in his excellent work on the economic and power groups scholar Francis Durand, this has had a continuity under the outgoing government of Toledo, where, to mention a case involving the State and its institutions, the outstanding tax dimensions to the privatized utilities led by our reigning Premier today imposed against the opinion of illegally maintaining Sun at exemptions to such companies, has stripped the state of more than 300 million dollars required to invest in health, education, infrastructure.
The lesson fujimorismo left us, that Durand describes as a kleptocracy organized in various State institutions-the Ministry of Economy among them, given their importance to produce economic and tax legislation, instead of taking us to produce a reflection on the political entanglement between state and business groups of economic power, seems to lead to the conclusion pragmatic right of greedy economic rather ram without the state cannot do business. What unfortunately shows that in Peru, unlike Chile, for example, by failing to consolidate a strong spirit of risk, which is what, defines an entrepreneur; this is the easiest way to do lucrative business for those who have been stripped as a new kind of mercantilist businessmen who intend nothing less than winning the next election.
In a state as poor as ours, with weak institutions, with few officials honest and thorough, it appears that simply tie in with programs heights of concessions, exemptions, privatization, frequencies. What in the ease and reinter mentality is clearly not necessarily be achieved efficiently or on proposals to better compete and win several good law. It supersedes and by the influences and connections with the state sector and corrupt officials, as perceptively points Durand, are disguised as economic policy decisions.
There is negative economic groups to consolidate and expand national capitalism, the problem occurs when the whole enterprise ends up in the parlor of SIN on dubious terms in association with foreign capital, and the use of the state to prosper economically. And that’s about the suspicion that we all Peruvians from the obvious presence of a little business economic group that is linked to Mr. Woodman, whose leader has been the unacceptable types of relationship plotted in the videos above corruption and only enhance presence of so much mistrust in the electoral contest.
This definitely goes against the democratic legitimacy and therefore, no doubt, in governance. It is therefore imperative to rebuild new relationships marked by a transparency and public discussion between power and economic groups close to that.
